Get a mama dog to eat?
Many dogs will eat this recipe...called 'Satin Balls', when they will not eat anything else:
10 pounds hamburger meat (the high-fat kind)
1 lg. box of Total cereal
1 lg. box oatmeal
1 jar of wheat germ
1.25 cup veg oil
1.25 cup of unsulfured molasses
10 raw eggs
10 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
pinch of salt
Mix all ingredients together, divide into 10 quart freezer bags and freeze. For small dogs you can make 'meatballs', freeze them in a single layer on a cookie sheet, and then store them in freezer bags.

Put Together a Whelping Kit?
The Basic Kit:
Lots and lots of clean towels
Child's safety scissors for cutting cords (dull scissors work better as they cut AND clamp)
Hemostats, small and very small, for clamping cords
Clipboard and birth record recording sheet, pen
Scale...the smaller increments the better (.25 oz or grams at least)
Stethescope
Clock or watch
Latex gloves
KY Jelly
Trash bags
Something to line the whelping pen that can be easily changed. Some people prefer newspapers, other prefer disposble incontinence pads, others use the washable incontinence pads. If you're using pads of any kind you need about 15-20 to whelp an average litter.
Alcohol wipes for cleaning scissors and hemostats
Paper towels
Kleenex
Handiwipes
Laundry basket
Digital thermometer
Baby wipes and hand cleanser if you do not have a sink in the whelping area
